Is it Bad Luck Wearing Black on New Years?

One of my girlfriends called me earlier today screaming “I don’t know if it is just a conisidence, but last New Year’s Eve I wore black, and this year was the unluckiest of my life”.

While I love dressing up in something glamorous and sparkly for New Year, I must admit that I have dressed in black for New Year’s on a few occasions. My friend got me wondering… what really did happen to those years when I wore black myself?

Halfway panicking, I start searching through old New Year’s photo albums on Facebook.

Many believe that what you’re doing at either the stroke of midnight or on New Year’s Day will set the tone for what you’ll be doing all year. That means, if you’re partying, then you should expect to have a good time all year long. If you’re working out, then you’ll probably have a year of fitness. Since New Year’s Eve gives me another reason to get dressed up and buy a new outfit, it would mean that wearing something new on New Year’s Eve will increase the likelihood that I will receive more new garments throughout the year… right?

Then I remember… I’m not a superstitions person… I’m pretty logical.  So this year I actually ended up wearing black. Not because it meant something, or felt wrong or right. Just because it’s a hell of a gorgeous dress. But I did add a little sparkles for my feet with a pair of glitter heels from René Caovilla… you know… just for a little protection against bad karma for 2017 incase my maniac friend was right!

xoxo Charlotte
