New York has never been particularly subtle about apples, so I rather like the idea of taking one out for the afternoon—especially when it happens to be gold.

Cult Gaia’s Mela clutch feels like a little objet d’art: a sculptural apple, beautifully detailed leaves, and just enough whimsy to make getting dressed more interesting.

I picture it with an ivory dress, a simple black evening look, or a cream knit and tailored trousers when the air begins to turn. A quiet outfit gives that little golden detail its moment.

In my city daydream, there is a French bistro table by the park, leaves just beginning to turn, and nowhere urgent to be. The bag, naturally, has rather grand plans for the afternoon.
