Who this policy covers

Manhattan Girl is the company that operates manhattangirl.com, a website sharing fashion, home, motherhood, art and personal stories. In this policy, “we,” “us” and “Manhattan Girl” refer to the company. This policy explains information handled when you visit the site, contact us, use its search features or interact with shopping links.

Information you share

  • Contact messages: your name, email address, subject and the message you choose to send through the contact form or by email.
  • Email subscriptions: your email address and any name or preferences you provide when a newsletter signup is offered.
  • Comments: where commenting is available, the name, email address, optional website and comment you submit. A published comment and display name can be visible to other readers.
  • Search and Concierge: the words, filters or shopping preferences you enter to help find relevant pieces and stories. Please avoid including sensitive personal or payment information.

Information collected during a visit

The website and its hosting, security and embedded-service providers may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser or device information, pages requested and the time of a visit. Cookies and similar technologies can support site features, spam protection and third-party content.

Manhattan Girl’s shopping-link reporting counts clicks on selected items and the page or Concierge where the click occurred. Temporary identifiers help prevent duplicate counts and abuse; the reports themselves show aggregate click counts.

How information is used

Information is used to respond to messages, deliver requested updates, display relevant search results, understand interest in featured shopping links, moderate available comments, keep the website working and reduce spam or misuse. Information may also be used where needed to meet legal obligations or address a dispute.

Search and the Manhattan Girl Concierge

Search terms and Concierge requests are sent to the site’s server to find matching products, looks and articles. The current Concierge uses the site’s catalog, and its search feature does not create a stored conversation archive. Hosting and security services may separately maintain request logs.

Short-lived records based on an IP-derived identifier help limit excessive requests. The Concierge’s current search mode does not send your question to an external AI service.

Cookies and your browser choices

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Similar technologies can help a service recognize a browser, support a feature or attribute a shopping-link referral. Some technologies are supplied by the website; others come from services whose content appears on it.

You can use browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking some cookies may affect forms, embedded content or other features. Third-party services may also offer their own privacy controls.

Site and spam-prevention technologies support forms, security and feature preferences. Affiliate and embedded-content providers may use their own technologies for referral attribution, measurement or activity across websites. Cookie durations and controls depend on the provider; see the linked policies below.

Do Not Track and browser privacy signals

The website does not currently have a custom automated response to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control browser signals. Third-party services apply their own policies and settings. To make a privacy request about information handled by Manhattan Girl, use the contact form below.

Shopping links and outside websites

We may earn a commission from purchases through shopping links. Manhattan Girl uses LTK/rewardStyle links and shopping widgets. Affiliate networks and retailers may use cookies or other technologies to connect a visit or purchase with a referral.

When you follow a retailer, LTK, Etsy or other external link, that provider handles information under its own policy. Review the LTK Privacy Statement and LTK Cookie Policy, along with the policy of the store you visit.

Email updates

Where newsletter signup is offered, information supplied through the signup form is processed using Mailchimp to manage subscriptions and send updates. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter or contact us for help.

Mailchimp’s practices are described in Intuit’s Global Privacy Statement.

Email platforms can also process delivery and engagement information, such as message opens and link clicks, depending on campaign settings and the recipient’s email software. See the provider’s statement for details about information it handles.

Spam protection and service providers

The contact form includes CleanTalk and Akismet protection. Spam checks may process submitted information and technical details such as an IP address and browser information to identify abusive activity.

The website also loads a TrustedSite resource, which can receive browser and connection information when it is requested. Its practices are described in TrustedSite’s Privacy Policy.

More information is available in CleanTalk’s Privacy Policy and Automattic’s notice for visitors to sites using its services. Hosting, email delivery and other providers also process information needed to operate the website and handle requests.

Embedded content and third-party resources

Where a page includes social posts, videos, shopping widgets, externally hosted images or fonts, the relevant provider may receive technical information when that content loads. Its cookies and privacy practices may apply, particularly if you are signed in to that provider. Follow its policy and controls for information it handles.

Keeping information secure

The website uses HTTPS to encrypt information in transit and spam-protection tools to reduce abusive submissions. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details or other sensitive information through the contact form or Concierge.

How long information is kept

The site’s aggregate shopping-click records are configured for cleanup after approximately 90 days during site maintenance. Duplicate-click identifiers expire after about 10 minutes; Concierge rate-limit records expire after about one hour. These periods do not determine the retention of hosting logs or records held by other providers.

Retention varies by record type and purpose. Contact correspondence may remain in email records for replies and follow-up; subscription and unsubscribe records may be held by the email provider; published comments may remain with the related post. Security logs and backups follow the relevant provider’s retention schedule. Use the contact form to ask about a particular record or request deletion, subject to applicable legal, security and operational requirements.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can choose whether to send a message, subscribe or submit a comment, and you can unsubscribe from email updates. You may contact us to ask about information associated with you or request access, correction or deletion.

Depending on your location and the laws that apply, you may have additional rights to obtain a copy of information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Requests are subject to applicable requirements and exceptions; identity or authorization may need to be verified.

To make a request, use the website’s contact form and enter “Privacy request” in the subject line. Describe your request and provide the email address associated with the information so it can be located. Requests about information held independently by a retailer or platform should be sent to that provider.

Visitors outside the United States

Information may be processed in the United States or other locations used by the website’s service providers. Privacy protections can differ between countries. Contact us with questions about the handling of your information.

Children’s information

Manhattan Girl is intended for adult readers, including parents. Family and children’s-style content does not invite children to submit personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information, please contact us so it can be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed.

Updates to this policy

This policy will be updated when the website’s features or information practices change. The date at the top will show the latest version. Additional notice will be provided where required by applicable law.

Privacy questions

For privacy questions or requests, contact Manhattan Girl through the website’s contact form and enter “Privacy request” in the subject line.
