Today is Memorial Day, the day of remembrance for everyone who has died serving in the American armed forces. I was born in Europe, but after spending 5 amazing years here in the States, I’ve worked incredibly hard to achieve my Extraordinary Ability Green Card, and I’m extremely proud to call America my new home. I didn’t take the easy way out by marrying a boyfriend I just met, or winning a Green Card Lottery, I believe in hard work and accomplishments, and I wanted to earn a green card myself. America is for dreamers and hard workers – not for cheaters! America truly makes me feel like I’m part of something bigger. I LOVE my home countries in Scandinavia very much, and will always be very proud of being Norwegian and Swedish, but America is my new home now!

Besides celebrating all the amazing men and women who has fought and died for America, I spent my Memorial Day eating great food with friends and wrapped it all up with some shopping.
