A Little Blue, a Little Sea Air

Something Blue, by the Sea

A pale-blue gown, a sculptural rose,
and an evening worth dressing for.

A pale blue Ana Radu Seraphine gown with a shoulder rose in an ivory and gold pencil sketch of a coastal dressing room overlooking the ocean.

There are dresses that politely join an evening, and dresses that turn the evening into an occasion. This pale-blue Ana Radu Seraphine gown belongs to the latter—although, rather elegantly, it never has to raise its voice.

Fine gathers draw the fabric into a beautifully sculpted silhouette, while the draped cape and single shoulder rose keep everything soft. It has the lovely balance I’m always drawn to: a little drama, with very good manners.

Against pearl-white walls and an open ocean view, that blue can carry the whole conversation. I’d keep the styling light: delicate jewelry, a simple heel, and hair swept away from the rose. For a formal wedding by the water or a black-tie evening on the coast, the dress has already done most of the thinking.

Some evenings ask for a little more than linen. This is how I’d answer.
