One Bryant Park Opens in Midtown
One address. Several very good reasons to book.
Midtown’s dinner plans have become considerably more interesting. One Bryant Park announces its October 15 opening at 135 West 42nd Street, with Japanese dining led by culinary director Tadaaki Ishizaki. The address also houses Kumiko Room, Yoshihiko Kousaka’s omakase restaurant, and the forthcoming Kappo Sono.
The delicious detail? These are distinct concepts with their own chefs and reservations. Eater reports that One Bryant Park and Kumiko Room open October 15, with Kappo Sono expected in mid-November. One building, rather a lot to discuss over dinner. Choose the dining room before you choose the dress.

Breitling Plans a New York Members’ Club
The guest list has a wristwatch.
New York’s private-club conversation has acquired a Swiss accent. Breitling says its first social club is planned for Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in late 2027. And there is a rather specific accessory attached to the invitation: buyers of its Navitimer Tribute to Miles Davis receive a two-year membership, starting when the club opens, subject to the brand’s terms.
WatchPro reports plans for restaurants, a rooftop lounge and live music. The opening is still ahead of us, and the wider membership details are yet to be announced. For now, consider this a future address to watch. Literally.

Carnegie Hall’s Opening Night Goes Black Tie
The concert was only the first act.
Some evenings have a second act worth staying dressed for. Carnegie Hall opened its season on October 8 with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Kirill Petrenko and Jonas Kaufmann. Vogue’s coverage places Constance Wu and Prabal Gurung among the evening’s guests, with dinner following at Cipriani 42nd Street.
Vogue reported $5 million raised for the Hall’s initiatives. A standing ovation feels entirely appropriate.

Brasserie Boulud Opens Near Lincoln Center
The curtain falls. Your evening doesn’t have to.
Lincoln Center has acquired a delicious reason to linger. Daniel Boulud’s new Brasserie Boulud opened October 8 at One Lincoln Plaza, reimagining the address previously home to Bar Boulud, Boulud Sud and Épicerie Boulud. The menu brings French onion soup, steak frites and the returning DB Burger into the conversation.
But the after-hours detail is Bar Viv, the cocktail lounge tucked behind the dining room. Boulud’s opening announcement describes it as a place for post-performance drinks. Ballet, dinner, then a little more conversation? That is an evening I can get behind.
