A Little Birthday Magic
Mini Turns Three
at The Plaza
Three golden candles, a little white bow dress,
and a New York birthday I’ll treasure forever.
Three candles,
a whole new chapter.
Our Mini turned three, and we celebrated at The Plaza. I’m still trying to understand how the baby I once carried around New York now has three candles on her cake.
She wore the sweetest white dress with an oversized bow, little ruffle socks, and a tiny birthday bun. Pink and pearl balloons, a white cake, and all that gold made the room feel like a little birthday dream.
As birthday accessories go, a giant bow is excellent. A cake within reach is even better.
I used to know New York as my own city. Seeing it through Mini’s eyes has made it feel new all over again. Celebrating her here gave a place I already loved a whole new meaning.
Tea for two.
On the bed, naturally.
Our birthday tea party had the best possible dress code: pajamas for Mama, a bow for Mini, and absolutely no need to leave the bed.
There is something so sweet about those tiny cups and saucers spread across all that grand hotel bedding. The setting may have been The Plaza, but the guest of honor was very much three.
A little pretend tea set can turn a hotel room into her whole world. Being invited into it is still my favorite part.
The sweetest little details.
A sundae with a cherry on top and a little dress embroidered with tiny cakes. The Plaza certainly knows how to set the scene for a birthday.
A dress embroidered with cakes feels like an excellent birthday idea. An actual sundae is an even better one. I love these little details, but the sweetest part of all will always be getting to celebrate another year of being her mama.
