Most little girls grow up dreaming of their perfect wedding day. What amazing gown they will wear, the sparkly shoes, the fabulous food and who will be invited. I was not one of those little girls. Growing up as a professional ballerina, performing in swan-tutus and princess-crowns was an every-day thing for me!
“Only this time, the prince in the play is my real-life prince”
The sought-after handbag designer and legend Judith Leiber’s new Fall pieces are finally here! I purchased my first Leiber clutch (the famous cupcake from Sex & the City) a few weeks after I first moved to Manhattan, and I’ve been a huge fan ever since! I’ve since then, added the kitty, the fries and the flamingo swan to my collection!
It’s that indecisive, stuck in the middle, uncertain time—like when you’re choosing whether to break it off with a fling, move to a new apartment or quit Facebook. In other words, it’s transition season. The new fall wares you fell for when you saw them on the runway are hitting stores and e-commerce sites, while the spring and summer goods that once looked so inviting hang onto the sales rack like that fling who got a little too clingy. And while those fall goods—those Dior over-the-knee boots and Gucci pleated leather midi skirts and Céline fur collar trenches—are still as beautiful as the first time you laid eyes on them, you can’t help but get visions of melting on Madison Avenue, Wicked Witch of the West-style, when you look at them. So the question remains, what do I buy now?
“The anatomy of a transition piece is straightforward: it must be appropriate in style and fabrication to wear now and ideal to layer for cooler seasons”
