Hello, San Francisco

I have visited and lived in many amazing places and cities all around the world, but it may not come as a big surprise to you that I left my heart in New York City. One of the factors that destines why I fall in love with a place, is the history and the architecture behind the buildings (which is why I don’t love the suburbs because there is little to nothing beautiful or remotely special about anything there… Hello soccer moms, freeways and badly dressed people). When I travel and explore new places, I’m searching for originality, extravagance and beauty. Design is like a time capsule. It captures the aspirations of the moment during which it was made. I’m obsessed with historic design because it tells a visual story of our human experience.

“Every era had its own look. Turn-of-the-century aesthetics show SF’s struggle with the advancements and losses of industrialization”

Time to let your Spring Flag Fly

After wearing a uniform of turtlenecks and puffy coats all winter long, it feels amazing to welcome spring. Say goodbye to scarves, gloves and layers of clothing to keep us warm in the cold. Although I’m a fan of attire that is more appropriate for colder weather, spring and fall are my top two favorite seasons when it comes to both fashion and nature. The in-between transitional weather of spring and fall gives us more freedom when it comes to our wardrobes.

“Having a zip up is like having your own personal air conditioning… when I’m down by the beach I can zip up and stay warm, and when I’m cruising through the desert, I can let me flag fly and enjoy the warm air”

A Welcoming Guest Bedroom

January is here… and I have FINALLY kicked Christmas out of the house! My home changes through the seasons, and after the Holidays I felt that one of my guest bedrooms needed a serious upgrade! For those of you that have the luxury of space, an inviting guest room with a welcoming bed is appreciated by guests. Make their bed with quality bed linen, fluffy pillows and keep extra blankets in an adjacent closet.

“I want my guests to feel pampered and inspired, and with a lot of help from Lamps Plus and Kathy Fielder Bedding, I managed to fresh up my room with whites and crystals, and achieve just that look and feel for my guests!”
